Luxurious, open wind-built villa for 8 people
Kas Air is what the name says. The recently built villa is perfectly built on the wind, which means that there is cooling everywhere: in the lounge corner on the veranda that can be closed with shutters when the wind is too strong, on the lounge sofa in the living room, in one of the lovely rocking chairs on the front terrace, on one of the poolside sun loungers or in a hammock in the palapa. For the months with little wind, there are fans in various places both inside and outside. The villa is located in the beautiful and well-located area of Sabal Palm Villas, south of the airport.
Living outside
Kas Air is the pinnacle of outdoor living. Even inside feels like outside, because the glass rear door can be completely slid open over the full width of 6 meters and the front door can also be opened almost completely. The beautiful wood of the decking around the pool extends all the way to the inside so that it is no longer clear what is inside and what is outside and so that you do not slip anywhere after a swim. The spacious living room, with lounge sofa, desk and TV area with delicious Fatboys, feels like outside, but can easily be closed.
Terraces, swimming pool and outdoor kitchen
In Kas Air people live outside in and around the large swimming pool of 8.00 x 4.00 meters and 1.60 meters deep, with a ‘lazy staircase’ on which you can sit. It is an infinity pool and a feast for the eyes. The decking around the pool is spacious and it is lined with tropical palms for some privacy when our guests lie on one of the sunbeds or the floating Fatboy in the pool. The outdoor bar with bar stools next to the outdoor kitchen with the built-in Green Egg is really nice. From the kitchen, guests can be served at the bar and everywhere there is a view of the beautifully planted garden full of palms and with a view of flowers, parrots and hummingbirds.
Bonairean architectural style in combination with Dutch Design
Kas Air is owned by a Dutch designer who was intensively involved in the design of the house, which is reflected in the fact that every detail has been thought of. Many natural materials have been used and the roof construction is traditional. The same kind of hardwood has been used everywhere and the stones that were extracted when the pool was cut can be found in the outer wall, but also in the lower edge of the house. Also pay attention to the detailing of the woodwork and painting. The shutters around are beautiful and showering outside with a view of coral and palm trees is wonderful. Even the wheelie bin is beautifully concealed and the furniture has been selected with care.
Comfortable
The owners have used all their experience of renting houses around the world to build a home that is as comfortable and user-friendly as possible. This means that wooden walkways have been made so that you do not have to walk barefoot through the gravel, that there is a very well-equipped kitchen with crockery and kitchenware in abundance, oven, ceramic hob, microwave, luxury Nespresso with milk frother, dishwasher, large American refrigerator with ice cubes and cold water function, Quooker, sandwich maker, blender and hand blender. There is a washing machine in a spacious storage room and enough space for groceries and empty suitcases. There is a Bose box that can be operated by means of Bluetooth and the large television in the living room can be used to use your own Netflix account.
The comfort starts immediately upon entering through the electrically operated gate. After parking on site, our guests can clean and store kite, windsurf and diving equipment and dive into the pool via the outdoor shower, which has been cleaned of sand.
It goes without saying that there is good WiFi everywhere, including in the palapa, and in many places such as the bedrooms, fiber optic internet is also available via data points.
On the wind and in the sun there is also a beautiful clothesline to hang the beach towels.
The lighting has also been considered. It is very intuitive to operate and the outdoor lighting switches on automatically when dusk falls. Coming home in the dark and looking for a light switch is therefore not an issue.
Bedrooms and bathrooms
The four bedrooms, all with a Caribbean color, are equipped with all comforts such as air conditioning, fan and a spacious wardrobe and desk. Two bedrooms have an en-suite bathroom and 2 bedrooms share one. All bathrooms have a regular shower as well as a rain shower, washbasin with ample storage options, a toilet and a large mirror with light and heating. There is also an extra toilet for guests.
Child-friendly and wheelchair accessible
Kas Air is equipped with a Stokke high chair, a BabyBjörn bouncer and of course a cot. We have also thought of guests who use a wheelchair. The car can be parked on private property next to the wooden walkway that leads to a slope, after which you enter the completely barrier-free villa.
Location
Kas Air is perfectly located within walking distance of Bachelors Beach and within 10 minutes drive of Lac Bay with Jibe City, The Hang Out Beachbar, Sebastian’s Beach and Sorobon Beach Resort. Punt Vierkant with Delfins and the three fine restaurants of Jonnie and Therese Boer, BrassBoer, Club Tropicana and Senang, is one kilometer away. Ocean Oasis is right next door. Atlantis Beach, one of the best places in the world for kitesurfing, is also not far away and of course Kralendijk with its many restaurants can be reached within a few minutes. Divers can also walk straight into the water at various places near Kas Air.
