Villa Bonheur is a detached villa in the quiet neighborhood of Oud Lagoen, located at Hofi 14. The villa offers 180 m² of living space and is entirely single-level – no stairs anywhere in sight. The nearest supermarket, Van den Tweel, is 2.5 kilometers away, Chachacha Beach is 3.7 kilometers away, restaurant It Rains Fishes is 3.1 kilometers away, and dive center Dive Friends Yellow Submarine is 3.5 kilometers away. The villa has its own private pool – a standard pool, fully exclusive for guests of Villa Bonheur. Free parking is available on the property.
Layout of the villa
Villa Bonheur features three bedrooms, each with a comfortable king-size bed: bedroom 1, bedroom 2 and bedroom 3 all offer plenty of space for a restful night's sleep. There are two bathrooms. The bright living room flows seamlessly into the open kitchen, which is fully equipped with a stovetop, refrigerator, freezer, oven, dishwasher, toaster, blender, coffee maker and an ice maker – everything you need to cook up a proper meal. Outside, you have access to a private garden, a spacious covered veranda and a terrace, ideal for long evenings in the open air. An outdoor shower and an outdoor kitchen round out the exterior spaces.

Just a few minutes' drive from Villa Bonheur, you'll find the Donkey Sanctuary, a unique rescue center that has become one of Bonaire's most beloved day trips. Hundreds of donkeys roam freely across a large protected area, where visitors can get up close, pet them and even feed them. The sanctuary also shares the fascinating history of donkeys on Bonaire – for centuries they were indispensable working animals on the island. A visit is a memorable experience for both children and adults alike. Be sure to check the opening hours before heading over.

- No A/C in the living area – The bedrooms are kept nice and cool with air conditioning. In the living room, ceiling fans and the option to open the doors to the outdoors provide a very pleasant breeze.
- Distance to Kralendijk – Villa Bonheur is situated in the peaceful neighborhood of Oud Lagoen, which means Kralendijk is a short drive away. With a rental car you're there in no time – and the tranquility you get in return is well worth it.
- No dryer – There's no tumble dryer, but on Bonaire you honestly won't need one: the sun and trade winds do the job in no time and your laundry will be completely dry within hours.
Where you'll stay
The neighborhood
Villa Bonheur is located in Oud Lagoen, a quiet and leafy residential neighborhood on the western side of Bonaire. The area is characterized by spacious plots, low-rise buildings and a relaxed atmosphere – well away from the hustle and bustle, yet within convenient reach of Kralendijk and all the island has to offer. Oud Lagoen is a popular place to live among both locals and expats, partly thanks to its proximity to the coast and the open landscape. From the neighborhood, it's a quick drive to a range of dive sites, beaches and the main roads heading north and south across the island.
Getting around
To truly explore the island beyond the immediate surroundings of Villa Bonheur in Oud Lagoen, a rental car is an absolute must. With your own vehicle you can reach every corner of Bonaire at your own pace – from secluded snorkel spots to great local restaurants. We strongly recommend renting a car so you can go wherever you want, whenever you want. Most roads on Bonaire are paved, but for a visit to Washington Slagbaai National Park a pickup truck or SUV is recommended, as the unpaved tracks inside the park can be quite rough. There is no public transportation on Bonaire, and taxis are limited – especially on busy days when a cruise ship is in port.

Beautiful villa with nice air flow

Guest access
As a guest of Villa Bonheur, you have full access to the entire villa. This includes all three bedrooms, both bathrooms, the open kitchen, the living room and all outdoor spaces: the private garden, the covered veranda, the terrace and the outdoor kitchen. Of course, the private pool is entirely at the disposal of you and your travel companions. Free parking is available on the villa's own property. To give our guests a warm welcome and share everything they need to know about the property and our beautiful island, we handle all arrivals personally! The Sunwise hosts for this property will coordinate the details of your arrival with you in advance.

Check-in is available from 3:00 PM and check-out must take place by 10:00 AM. Early or late check-in and check-out can be arranged on request, subject to availability.
