Villa Azul I is a detached villa in the Belnem neighborhood with a lush garden and green views. The villa offers approximately 130 m² (1,399 ft²) of living space and is conveniently located for amenities: supermarket Good and More at 600 meters, Playa Esmeralda (Ocean Oasis) at 2.4 kilometers, restaurant La Cantina at 5 kilometers and dive center Dive Friends Delfins at 2 kilometers. Outside, you have a private garden with a covered porch and a private hot tub, perfect for unwinding after an active day.
Layout of the house
The villa has two bedrooms: bedroom 1 features a king-size bed and bedroom 2 has two single beds. There are two full bathrooms for extra comfort. The open kitchen connects directly to the living room and comes with built-in appliances, including a stove, refrigerator, freezer, dishwasher, oven, coffee maker and kettle. From the living room you step onto the covered porch, which leads to the private garden and the hot tub area, where you can sit outside in peace and enjoy the tropical greenery.

From Villa Azul I it’s only a short drive to Bachelor’s Beach, a beloved spot on the southern edge of Kralendijk. The beach lies at the foot of a low cliff, which makes it feel intimate and sheltered. From the narrow strip of sand you step straight into clear water, perfect for snorkeling among colorful reef fish. Just so you know
- The distance to Kralendijk – The villa is set a bit away from downtown, but with a rental car you’ll reach all restaurants, shops and the boulevard in a short drive.
- No indoor dining table – There is no separate dining table inside, but outside under the porch there is ample space to enjoy meals in the pleasant evening breeze.
- No dryer – There is no tumble dryer, yet thanks to the sun and trade winds your laundry usually dries within a few hours.

The neighborhood
South of the center and toward the salt pans, Belnem is one of Bonaire’s best-known residential and vacation areas, traditionally linked to Harry Belafonte. Belnem has grown into an umbrella name for upscale sub-neighborhoods such as La Palma, Sabal Palm, Lima, Punt Vierkant and Playa Esmeralda. You’ll be close to popular south-coast beaches (like Bachelor’s Beach) and iconic dive sites, ideal for sunsets and relaxed beach life. It’s a quiet residential area with quick routes to the airport and Kralendijk.
Getting around
Villa Azul I in Belnem is best enjoyed with a rental car, as Bonaire has so much more to offer than just the immediate surroundings. With your own car you can explore every corner of the island at your own pace, from secluded snorkel spots to local restaurants. We strongly recommend renting a car. Most roads on Bonaire are paved, but for nature areas such as Washington Slagbaai National Park a pickup truck or SUV is advisable, as the roads there are unpaved and can be rough. There is no public transport and taxis are limited, especially on busy cruise ship days.

Very Nice Stay
The villa is very comfortable, it was 4 of us and everyone felt like home, separated bedrooms with own bathrooms on the upper floor gave us good privacy. Big day/living room with a open kitchen was well equipped- we had everything we needed plus a cool backyard with barbecue ,large table and jacuzzi was perfect for an evening chill ( although the tub could be in better shape).As for divers the extra locker room and rinsing tub for dive gear was just perfect. The perfect month in Villa Azul
We had a great time again last month on Bonaire and Sunwise made a very positive contribution to that. Excellent reception by Evert and soon we felt like we were in our own little house. Villa Azul 1
Perfect house for divers or windsufers. We were doing both and had ample storage for our gear, complete with proper Scuba Hangers in a secure locker and rinse tanks. The house had all the amenities, even a portable cooler and beach chairs for excursions. The Belnem location is perfect for access to Lac Bay and all the Southern dive sites. Small grocery store within a 5 min walk for stocking up and 5 min walk to Bachelors Beach. Sunwise made things really easy and we are planning our return for next year. Two thumbs up! Guest access
As a guest of Villa Azul I you have access to the entire villa, including both bedrooms, the two bathrooms, the living room, the open kitchen and all listed amenities. You can also enjoy the private garden, the covered porch and the hot tub, as well as parking on the premises. To warmly welcome our guests and provide information about the accommodation and our beautiful island, we personally host all arrivals. The Sunwise hosts of the property will arrange your check-in time with you.
Interaction with guests
The Sunwise team will do everything possible to make your stay at Villa Azul I as pleasant as can be. During your vacation we are available for questions, local tips and any assistance you may need. You can best reach us via email or WhatsApp of the Sunwise guest team for Villa Azul I, or through the messaging platform where you made your booking. We generally respond quickly during daytime, so you can enjoy Bonaire without worries.
Other things to note
Check-in at Villa Azul I is from 3PM and check-out is by 10AM. Early arrival or late departure may be possible on request, depending on other bookings. Smoking and pets are not allowed in our accommodations, and we kindly ask you to keep noise levels down in the evenings out of respect for neighbors. Enjoy your stay at Villa Azul I!
