General description
This spacious oceanfront accommodation in Belnem offers 349 m² of living space and stunning views of the Caribbean Sea. Nearby, you’ll find Bachelor’s Beach (50 meters), Good and More (500 meters), Brass Boer (500 meters), and Dive Friends Delfins dive center (500 meters).
Outside, a private pool with a sunny pool deck awaits, surrounded by a private garden and terrace. The private beach provides direct access to the sea, ideal for swimming, snorkeling, or diving at the house reef. Private storage is available for your dive gear. Free parking is available on the property.
Layout of the villa
Casa Mar Azul has six bedrooms: bedroom 1 with a king-size bed; bedrooms 2, 3, and 4 each with two single beds; bedroom 5 with a king-size bed; and the studio with a king-size bed. There are six bathrooms.
The open kitchen adjoins the living room and is equipped with a cooktop, refrigerator, freezer, oven, microwave, dishwasher, toaster, blender, coffee maker, ice maker, and kettle.
Outside, you’ll find a terrace, private garden, and spacious pool deck with a private pool. From the property, you have access to the private beach and the Caribbean Sea. After your dive, you can easily store your dive gear in the private storage area.

Sunwise insider tip
Just steps away is Bachelor’s Beach, a beloved small beach on the southern edge of Kralendijk. A staircase leads down a roughly 3-meter rock face to a narrow, often partially hidden strip of sand. The water here is calm and clear, with great snorkeling over the shallow coral garden close to shore. Water shoes are useful for entry and exit. It’s a relaxed spot for a refreshing swim and to end the day overlooking the Caribbean Sea.
Just so you know
- No dryer – There’s no dryer, but clothes dry quickly in the trade winds.
- Animal visits – You may spot birds or lizards—part of the Bonaire experience.
- Water pressure – Water pressure on the island may occasionally fluctuate, usually only for a short period.
Where you'll stay
The neighborhood
South of Kralendijk and toward the salt pans lies one of Bonaire’s best-known residential and vacation areas, traditionally associated with Harry Belafonte. Belnem has grown to encompass several upscale neighborhoods, including La Palma, Sabal Palm, Lima, Punt Vierkant, and Playa Esmeralda.
Here, you’ll be close to popular beaches along the southern coast, such as Bachelor’s Beach (50 meters), as well as iconic dive sites. It’s an ideal area for sunsets and relaxed beach life, with a peaceful residential atmosphere and easy access to the airport and Kralendijk.
Getting around
Bonaire and especially the hotspots like Washington Slagbaai National Park, the remote pristine beaches, and the kitesurf and windsurf locations, are best enjoyed with a rental car, as our lovely Caribbean island has so much more to offer beyond the immediate surroundings of Casa Mar Azul. With your own car you can explore remote snorkel spots, dive sites and local restaurants at your own pace. We strongly recommend renting a car so you can get everywhere easily. Most roads on Bonaire are paved, but for nature areas like the park, a pickup truck or SUV is advisable. The park roads are unpaved and sometimes rough, making a regular car less suitable. There is no public transport on Bonaire and taxis are limited, especially on busy days when a cruise ship is in port.

We had ten adults in our group and we all felt the place was ideal. Plenty of space so you could find some alone time or hang out with others. The view is outstanding and the snorkeling off the back is wonderful.
It was a very easy drive to get to our dive center north of the airport for those that were diving
The place was very clean and the kitchen very well appointed- we made dinners in and grilled for about half the nights eating both inside and outside.
We did have a little challenge with 2 of the AC units during the week long stay but they were addressed within a day and did not impact our stay much. You really can’t ask for more from a host.

Ocean side dream with backyard scuba diving – Superb!
Our stay at Casa Mar Azul was outstanding. Would absolutely stay here again. The home host was available round the clock although we didn't need much. Had everything we needed and more. Highly recommend. Rinse tanks are always a plus, but the owners thought of everything by also having 10 or so heavy duty BCDs hangers in the open air lockable outdoor closet. The beach (sand) you see in the pictures was accurate round the clock for us (July/August). Sometimes you see photos of homes where the tide changes the ocean entry at various times of the day, but here it did not. What you see is what you get! Choose this place, you won't regret it. Casa Mar Azul was the perfect property for our large family of 9. Everyone had their own bedrooms. The upper bedrooms had beautiful balconies where we would watch the sunset. A real luxury was having air conditioning in the living room and the kitchen. The location next to the ocean and in the center of the city made it easy to get where you wanted to be quickly. Perfect Snorkel spot
We can't say enough good things about Casa Azul!! The house is amazing, there's plenty of space to get away if you need a moment to yourself and tons of shared space to visit, eat, play games, etc. The best thing though about the house is LOCATION! LOCATION! LOCATION! Being able to walk out your patio, down the stairs and enter into one of the best snorkel spots on the island is absolutely amazing. If the kids want to snorkel, they can, you can sit right on the patio and watch them snorkel and keep a close eye on them. Highly recommend going night snorkeling as well. 5 mins to the airport, 8 mins from grocery stores, 12 mins from downtown. The host, Mark, was extremely responsive. As with any house for over a week there were a few issues that popped up here and there. Mark had them handled immediately and we never skipped a beat. Casa Mar Azul is a beautiful house with many amenities, lots of space inside and outside. The location is out of town but close, 5 minutes drive, located next to Bachelors Beach, which is an excellent snorkel and dive reef. Private stairs to the ocean, plenty of sand to walk right into the ocean even with your scuba gear! Luke with Sunwise was there to greet us and was very quick to respond to any questions we had. Wonderful!
What a dream home. We stayed here with our family 10 people in 6 bedrooms. Beautiful rooms, each with its own bathroom. A small staircase leads directly to the sea next to the house. There’s a spacious courtyard with room to park two cars easily. A rinse area for dive gear, a lovely BBQ corner, and a long outdoor dining table make it perfect for enjoying time together, plus a private pool to cool off. Check-in to Casa Mar Azul is from 3:00 PM and check-out is until 10:00 AM. Early arrival or late departure may be possible on request, depending on other reservations.
