Kas Blou Blou is an apartment on the second floor of the Water Villas Bonaire complex, situated in the lively center of Kralendijk. The apartment covers 80 m² and offers beautiful views over the lagoon. Guests have access to a shared pool and a communal garden. Van den Tweel supermarket is 2.1 kilometers away, Te Amo Beach and Donkey Beach are 1.2 kilometers away, Sebastian’s Restaurant is 1.4 kilometers away, and Dive Friends Port Bonaire is just 1.1 kilometers away. Free parking is available on the premises, right at the complex.
Layout of the apartment
Kas Blou Blou has two bedrooms, each furnished with two single beds – perfect for groups of friends or two couples. The bathroom is shared between both bedrooms. The open-plan kitchen flows directly into the living area and is fully equipped with built-in appliances: a stovetop, refrigerator, freezer, oven, toaster, kettle, and dishwasher make self-catering a breeze. A visit to Gotomeer is an absolute must on your Bonaire itinerary. This saltwater lake is the largest saltwater lagoon on the island and is tucked away within Washington Slagbaai National Park in the northwest. Gotomeer is one of the best spots to see Caribbean flamingos in the wild – flocks of these vibrant pink birds regularly gather along its shores. The combination of mirror-calm water, surrounding cactus vegetation, and the chance to spot flamingos makes this a truly memorable destination. Bring binoculars for the best views, and plan your visit early in the morning for the greatest chance of seeing the flamingos up close.
Just so you know
- Stairs – The apartment is located on the second floor and is accessed via a staircase. Good to keep in mind if you have mobility limitations.
- No dryer – There is no clothes dryer, but on Bonaire that's rarely an issue: the sun and constant trade winds will have your laundry dry on the rack in no time.
- City sounds nearby – Since Kas Blou Blou is right in the center of Kralendijk, you may hear the lively sounds of the boulevard on some evenings – think of it as a vibrant Caribbean soundtrack to your stay.

The neighborhood
Kralendijk's waterfront boulevard, docks, sailing and motorboats moored at the buoys, and colorful facades: Kas Blou Blou puts you right in the middle of restaurants, bars, boutiques, and the departure point for various boat trips – including sunset tours and water taxis to Klein Bonaire. Perfect for those who want everything within walking distance and love an evening stroll along the boulevard. For divers and snorkelers, the Playa area is a great base thanks to its quick access to the west coast dive sites; for foodies and shoppers, this is the place to be. Expect vibrancy, convenience, and the shortest travel times to all amenities in Bonaire's capital, Kralendijk.
Getting around
Bonaire and especially the hotspots like Washington Slagbaai National Park, the remote pristine beaches, and the kitesurf and windsurf locations, are best enjoyed with a rental car, as our lovely Caribbean island has so much more to offer beyond the immediate surroundings of Kas Blou Blou. With your own car you can explore remote snorkel spots, dive sites and local restaurants at your own pace. We strongly recommend renting a car so you can get everywhere easily. Most roads on Bonaire are paved, but for nature areas like the park, a pickup truck or SUV is advisable. The park roads are unpaved and sometimes rough, making a regular car less suitable. There is no public transport on Bonaire and taxis are limited, especially on busy days when a cruise ship is in port.

Wonderful, but too much noise
We had a great time at Kas Blou Blou and really enjoyed ourselves. However, the apartment is not worth 5 stars. There is a lot of noise from the road, the fire station and the wind. The house has a type of shutter windows that do not close properly. The idea is obviously to make optimal use of the wind, but in practice this unfortunately causes a lot of noise and sleepless nights. The fire station starts testing the sirens every day around 7 a.m. Both bedrooms are also difficult to keep cool, even with air conditioning, because of these windows. Nice apartment
Very nice apartment and a perfect base for our two-week holiday on Bonaire. It’s clear that everything has been thoughtfully arranged with vacationers in mind. Brand new apartment – spacious, clean, over-complete, and safe!
Brand new apartment where there is really everything. It is spacious, clean, tidy and over-complete. The beds were lovely and the balcony was a godsend where we enjoyed breakfast every morning. Also, every room has a ceiling fan and the bedrooms have powerful and quiet air conditioners. Furthermore, the residential area sits on a busy and through road that overlooks the airport. During the night nobody drives here and there are no flights at night. No problem for the night's rest. The residential area is closed by a fence with code and therefore gives a safe and secure feeling. Parking is right in front of the house on private property. The apartment is so new that during our stay the road was still being built. However, this was in the final stages. Fantastic stay
We were one of the first tenants in the luxury apartment Kas Blou Blou. And we absolutely loved it. The apartment has all the luxuries that make a stay pleasant. The location in relation to Kralendijk and other beautiful places on Bonaire is good. The grounds are private and well fenced. There is parking in front of the door. And the pool is lovely and warm yet cool. The apartment is spacious with lovely large balcony to have a good time. The bathroom, bedrooms and kitchen are fully equipped and well clean. We were very kindly received by our host Ellie, and a later check-out connecting to our flight back was possible at no cost, really a super service. The only downside I can think of is the location on the main road, this road is used a lot and is noisy if you sleep with the windows open (Air conditioning is not necessarily required for the temperature) and the fire station can cause some nuisance if stretched in the night. Free parking is available on the premises, right at the complex. To give our guests a warm welcome and share everything there is to know about the accommodation and our beautiful island, all arrivals are handled personally! Check-in to Kas Blou Blou is from 3:00 PM and check-out is until 10:00 AM. Early arrival or late departure may be possible on request, depending on other reservations.
