Close to Bachelor’s Beach
Belnem is a very nice residential area south of the airport of Bonaire, with mainly detached houses. At Kaya Gemini we have Villa Mistralea for rent, suitable for up to 6 people. At less than 200 meters you will find the small sandy beach Bachelor’s Beach and especially the kitespot Atlantis Beach and windsurfing paradise Lac Bay, are very close by, from this side of the island. The entire west coast of Bonaire has about 100 shore diving and snorkeling sites, so there is always a beautiful reef in the area. For divers, this villa has rinse tanks and lockers for the scuba equipment.

Villa Mistralea has three bedrooms, all with air conditioning, two bathrooms, a spacious living with open kitchen, a porch that is well situated on the wind. The kitchen is fully equipped with an oven, microwave, gas stove, fridge, coffee maker, water cooker, and toaster.

The house is light and tastefully decorated and the beautifully landscaped garden offers privacy, a wooden sundeck with a small pool and a great feeling of luxury and space.

Good deal, but a bit outdated
There were a few surprises when we came in: - The temperature in the master bathroom wasn't adjustable, either boiling hot or cold, no matter the settings. Pressure was excellent though. - No air conditioning in the main area, only in the bedrooms. So we either have to run all the fans to get some relief, or open both doors to create a draft. The problem with the latter was the bugs. So many bugs that it was hard to even sit outside unless it was windy. Now to be fair, the bug issue is everywhere on the island, but having air conditioning in the living room would alleviate it. - The kitchen is very outdated. Doors don't close, shelf under sink is falling apart, the dishwasher is ridiculously small, so that you can't include the dinner plates. No space to put the groceries. The microwave and fridge are very nice however. - The outdoor pool is perfect for young children or to cool off, but definitely not to swim. A crew came every week for maintenance. Also, it is in serious need of inside repainting. - All around the house, there's dozens of iguana poop, so you have to be careful where you step. That really can't be helped, but I think the yard should at least have been cleaned before our arrival. - The washing machine is in a closet outside the house. It's so small that it's not easy to get in and squat to get the laundry in and out. But at least, it works fine. Sunwise was very responsive and helped as much as they could. Nice backyard, great to relax

Fantastic Villa Mistralea!
We stayed at Villa Mistralea with 2 people for 7 nights. It was a wonderful stay!
It is a spacious detached villa with a large tropical garden and a private (unheated) pool. To enter the plot with the car you enter through an electric gate.
From the large verandas at the front and back of the house you have a beautiful view of the garden.
There are many birds flying in the garden such as hummingbirds, parrots and doves. There are also many lizards and iguanas living in the garden.
The villa is very well equipped with all kinds of amenities. Like an oven, microwave, airfryer, deep fryer, toaster, sandwich maker, blender and a small dishwasher with dishwasher cubes. (There is no washing machine for clothes).
There are more than enough (bath) towels provided.
There are 3 bedrooms which all have air conditioning. The living room has no air conditioning but has a ceiling fan. There are also 2 separate fans in the villa. There are American and European outlets and some extension cords available.
The wifi is generally fine except at times it is a bit slow but that often only lasts a short time.
A good 5-minute drive away are large supermarkets such as The Warehouse and Van den Tweel where you can get all your extensive groceries. These supermarkets are open every day from 8 am to 8 pm.
Bachelor's beach is at a distance of 1 kilometer.
Within walking distance you can eat out very well at, for example, the restaurant at resort Bloozz. But there are several resorts nearby where you can also go out to eat.
The airport is a 5-minute drive away. Even though it is so close you are not bothered by the planes at all.
