The general view is that we will have to learn to live (and work!) with this new coronavirus until there is a vaccine or an effective treatment method. Sunwise Bonaire has now written a number of safety protocols.
At this moment, May 21, 2020 (Ascension Day), there is still no tourism on Bonaire due to the coronavirus that causes COVID-19.
Fortunately, we can slowly start looking ahead and the internal economy is now starting up again. Although the flight ban has been extended to June 15, 2020, there is a communal feeling here that we may welcome airplanes with tourists again not too long after that date. Delta Airlines, among others, has already announced that it will resume service on Bonaire after 15 June. Of course all will depend on further developments, but we are slowly starting to see light in the darkness!
Apart from two cases that have now been cured, our island has so far remained free from the corona virus.
That can of course change quickly when tourists come our way again and that is why it is important that we prepare well for a society with precautions to prevent the spread of the virus. The general view is that we will have to learn to live (and work!) with this new coronavirus until there is a vaccine or an effective treatment method.
Sunwise Bonaire has now written a number of protocols for, among other things, the contact and interaction with our guests, the safety of our guests, our hostesses and hosts and the contractors we work with, including the cleaners. We also have written instructions for disinfecting and thoroughly cleaning the accommodations and handling the laundry. Later we will share the specific details of these protocols with our guests and clients!
We are looking forward to welcoming you on Bonaire again!
Any further updates on opening up??
