Solar panels for electricity
Villa Oaxaca is a great villa with a modern concrete design with lots of wood accents and wooden furniture. The house has beautiful furnishings, a fully equipped kitchen. The facade between the living area and the veranda can be completely opened, creating a great feeling of outdoor living. The house runs entirely on solar panels as far as electricity is concerned.
Terrace and infinity pool
In Villa Oaxaca people live outside on the porch and around the infinity pool. Inside there’s a living room with a fully equipped open kitchen with a dish washer, induction stove, oven, Nespresso coffee machine and a fridge with ice maker. The hallway has large closets and the two, airconditioned bedrooms both have their own bathroom.

The bugs were terrible
The pool was excellent so one star. The bugs were terrible. Despite large signs on Bonaire for the prevention of Zika, Dengue and Chikungunya this house has no screens. The kitchen and living area is open and the bedrooms/bathrooms have louvres which let in biting flies, house flys, spiders, mosquitos (and frogs). The house manager found a bed net in the owner’s closet but their was no proper frame or hook. The house had citronella candles, mosquito coils, a bug racquet, a twirling mill against against bugs but nothing worked. There were nets to put over your food but it is hard to prepare and eat food when it is under a net. There is no where on the property where we did not get bitten or bothered by flies.
The bugs stayed even though there was a strong wind through the open living area. The wind made it hard to hear the tv and everything was always blowing away. When it rained and the three garage doors were closed we were in a windowless, airless room.
There was no BBQ or Microwave. When we asked the house managers they did bring a toaster and three other missing items but no real sheets for the beds. The beds had only IKEA BERGPALM duvets and shams as sheets and pillow cases. They were heavy (double thickness) and scratchy. Not ideal for tropical nights.
The motorcycle and truck noise from nearby Kaya Kaminda Gurubu woke us up at night. The next door neighbours had two dogs that barked for long periods of time.
We were just two people but there was no hot water in the morning as there was no holding tank for the hot water.
We could not invite any one to visit because of the poor living conditions.

What a super stay
What a super stay was this villa. Everything there was fine. A beautiful pool, nice living area and equipped with every luxury. Good WiFi and also very sustainable by the solar panels and batteries where the house in the evening running. You do have to keep an eye on your power consumption but with normal consumption you just get through the day without dead batteries. The landlord was very friendly and very helpful. Villa is located in a quiet neighborhood centrally on the island. Everything is very easy to reach by car. We can recommend this villa to everyone. Read more 26th Oct 2022 by Jerry Hendrikx via![]()
What an amazing house!
What an amazing house! The interior is beautiful and equipped with everything. Fully equipped kitchen, beach towels, comfortable beds, good air conditioning, and a peaceful location. We also loved the floating Fatboy bean bags in the pool! Overall, we had a delightful stay, and we were very pleased with the communication with the host and hostess. It was very convenient to communicate via WhatsApp. Check-out time is normally 10 am, but since there was no one coming after us, we were allowed to stay in the house until we had to go to the airport, which was also very nice! Very unique open air home
Absolutely beautiful property and very unique open air home. Well supplied and well appointed kitchen, an overall lovely living space that was beautifully decorated. Great shower! Creative use of space for washing machine. The infinity pool was perfect for laps and a lovely accent from the living room sofa!
(It’s worth noting that the solar only electric means the electronics, including AC, may be limited.) This is clearly delineated upon arrival, but not noted in the air bnb listing.)
Elyse was an excellent host — knowledge, thoughtful, and readily available. Read more 25th Jul 2022 by Jen Johnson via![]()
