General description of the villa
In the beautiful, new residential area of Sur Salinja, Sunwise Bonaire offers this lovely 6-person holiday home with 3 bedrooms and a private pool, located not far from the center of Kralendijk and several beach clubs.
Layout of the villa
All three bedrooms in Kas Gia are equipped with air conditioning. There are also two bathrooms, a spacious living room with an open, fully equipped kitchen, a porch that’s well-positioned for the breeze, a delightfully cool pool, surrounded by a well-maintained garden. The house is fully equipped with mosquito nets.
Sur Salinja is a very popular new residential area with a nice mix of holiday homes and permanent residences. Bonaire’s airport is less than 10 minutes by car, and it’s only a 5-minute drive to get to the restaurants and shops of Kralendijk.

Layout of the villa
Kas Gia has three bedrooms and two bathrooms. Bedroom 1 is furnished with a king-size bed, and bedrooms 2 and 3 each with a queen-size bed. The open-plan kitchen adjoins the living area and is fitted with built-in appliances, including a stove, oven, microwave, refrigerator, freezer, dishwasher, coffee maker, kettle and an ice maker. Outside, the property offers a private garden, a covered veranda, a terrace and a pool deck – together providing a wonderful outdoor space to enjoy the Bonairean sunshine.

Our top recommendation? A trip to Klein Bonaire, the small uninhabited island just a fifteen-minute boat ride from shore. Klein Bonaire has been part of the Bonaire National Marine Park since 2001 and holds official protected nature reserve status. The island is renowned for its pristine, untouched coral reefs and crystal-clear waters – perfect for snorkelers and divers of all levels. You can rent a small boat from the marina or hop on a water taxi. Don't forget your sunscreen and snorkel gear: there are intentionally no facilities on the island, keeping nature in its purest and most unspoiled form.
Just so you know
- No A/C in the living room – The bedrooms are equipped with air conditioning for a cool and comfortable night's sleep. In the living area, ceiling fans and the option to open doors and windows provide a pleasant breeze throughout the day.
- Animal visitors – Bonaire is full of wildlife: the occasional curious lizard, bird or goat may wander into the garden. It's a quintessentially Bonairean experience and very much part of island life.
- No dryer – There's no tumble dryer, but you'll barely notice: with Bonaire's strong sunshine and steady Caribbean breeze, laundry dries in just a few hours on the line.
Where you'll stay
The neighborhood
Kas Gia is located in Sur Salinja, a quiet residential neighborhood on the south side of Kralendijk. The neighborhood is characterized by brick-paved streets, a relaxed atmosphere and a good location relative to both the center of Kralendijk and the dive sites and beaches in the area. Sur Salinja is a relatively new neighborhood where locals and expats live side by side, which gives it a cozy Bonairean character. Shops, restaurants and dive centers are all within a few minutes by car or bike, while after an active day you return to the calm of a real residential neighborhood.
Getting around
Bonaire and especially the hotspots like Washington Slagbaai National Park, the remote pristine beaches, and the kitesurf and windsurf locations, are best enjoyed with a rental car, as our lovely Caribbean island has so much more to offer beyond the immediate surroundings of Kas Gia. With your own car you can explore remote snorkel spots, dive sites and local restaurants at your own pace. We strongly recommend renting a car so you can get everywhere easily. Most roads on Bonaire are paved, but for nature areas like the park, a pickup truck or SUV is advisable. The park roads are unpaved and sometimes rough, making a regular car less suitable. There is no public transport on Bonaire and taxis are limited, especially on busy days when a cruise ship is in port.

Perfect!
The house was absolutely perfect! Amazing pool, and yes, there’s a lot of sand in it, even though it’s cleaned weekly, but there’s just a lot of dust, so definitely not a downside! We had a warm welcome and were even allowed to send a grocery list for drinks and breakfast for our late arrival.
The only minor issue was the drying rack, which didn’t open properly, but that’s not worth deducting a star. Indeed, there is some construction in the area, but mostly only in the mornings or late afternoons. There are also barking dogs… but you get used to it 😉 The connection with Sunwise was super smooth! Wonderful house, fully equipped with all amenities. Excellently equipped kitchen with quality pans and kitchen appliances. Only two tea glasses.
Ideal two bedrooms and two bathrooms.
Pleasant large pool, no view from the neighbors, lots of privacy. Located in the shade making it pleasant to stay long.
Nice sunbeds, but tight at the pool making it very narrow to walk along. Also slippery when wet floor. Inflatable air beds available for pool (not the flamingo one pictured).

Walking distance from the center of Kralendijk. Close to the sea, where there are immediate snorkeling opportunities.
Late check-out was possible, very nice since we had an evening flight.
No air conditioning in the living room, only fans. However, air conditioning in the bedrooms.
Pool is only cleaned once a week. After one day already a lot of sand blown into the pool. Water quality is guaranteed according to Sunwise, through whom communication goes. Still, more frequent (self) cleaning would be my preference. It looks fresher and more inviting.
Sunwise is easily accessible, not always helpful.
The washing rack was broken; this was indicated. It seems to be suggested by email that we were unable to put this rack together. It was simply broken. A clothesline is possible as an alternative. This is outside the canopy, against a pole. Regularly all the towels were rained wet. To which was said that it is a warm climate and everything dries quickly.

Kas Gia – lovely house
Once again our vacation on Bonaire was wonderful, this time partly due to our stay in Kas Gia. Spacious, fully furnished (even the teapot and microwave mentioned in previous reviews were now present) nice beds and a nice pool. As far as we are concerned, this house is worth coming back to. We really enjoyed it
We couldn’t say enough about this villa. Even though it’s in a residential area with no walkable restaurants, bars and not near the beach, which we knew, it was a great choice. The place was so clean even my grandmother would have approved! We really enjoyed having our own private salt water pool which we used every day. The villa is new and modern and as explained when we arrived, like the majority of places on the island, it only has air conditioning in the bedrooms. Simon checked us in and out and couldn’t have been more gracious even leaving us a welcome bottle of wine and other beverages. We will be making a few recommendations such as a safe and microwave. Nice house, sensibly furnished, with a sufficiently large pool, which due to the dust caused by construction work in the neighborhood, however, needs care, 1x per week is unfortunately too little. Who wants to watch TV, there is no signal, is also not provided. Teapot unfortunately, as well as a microwave not available. Diving equipment has to be cleaned outside, but this is doable. The pool and the extended covered patio were the perfect places to relax after a day of beach and diving. The house was spotless and beautifully decorated, with comfortable beds and a lovely breeze. AC in each bedroom.
The kitchen had everything we needed, plus an outdoor grill. Cecile and Simon were attentive, checking in with us to ensure everything went smoothly.
I would gladly return to this home time and time again. It's an excellent choice for couples or small families.

As a guest of Kas Gia, you have full access to the entire property: all three bedrooms, both bathrooms, the open-plan kitchen, the living room and all outdoor spaces – including the private garden, the covered veranda, the terrace and the pool deck with private pool. Free parking is available directly in front of the property. To give our guests a warm welcome and share everything they need to know about the home and our beautiful island, we handle all arrivals personally. The Sunwise hosts for this property will coordinate your arrival time with you in advance.
