Sunwise insider tip

For snorkeling and diving, Isidel Beach Park and Bari Reef are nearby. Bari Reef is known as one of the Caribbean’s most species-rich reefs; according to REEF (Reef Environmental Education Foundation), more than 300 fish species have been recorded here. Shore entry is relatively straightforward in calm conditions, and you’ll often spot parrotfish, trumpetfish, and moray eels. Go early for the clearest water and always check current sea conditions before heading in.

Just so you know

  • No dryer – Laundry typically air-dries quickly in the sun and trade winds.
  • No indoor dining table – A comfortable dining table awaits outside under the covered veranda.
  • Stairs – A staircase is present; less ideal for guests with mobility issues. Plan accordingly.

The neighborhood

Hillside neighborhood on the north side of Kralendijk, behind the historic saliñas (salt pans). The slightly elevated position offers fine views in places toward the sea and Klein Bonaire. It’s a quiet residential area with quick access to northern snorkeling and dive sites and the route to Washington Slagbaai National Park. Comfortable, peaceful, and well connected.

Getting around

A rental car is a must on Bonaire to explore beyond the immediate surroundings of Di Dos Kas in Santa Barbara. With your own vehicle you can reach every corner at your own pace, from secluded snorkel spots to local eateries. We recommend renting a car so you can get everywhere. Most roads are paved, but for nature areas like Washington Slagbaai National Park a pickup or SUV is advisable. Roads in the park are unpaved and can be rough. There’s no public transport and taxis are limited, especially on busy cruise days.
