general description of the villa
Casa di Bon Bientu is a stunning villa in the exclusive Santa Barbara neighborhood. From the hill where the house is built, you have a view over the rooftops, towards the west coast of Bonaire, the Caribbean Sea, Klein Bonaire, and the most beautiful sunsets. Kralendijk, with its charming little shops, amazing restaurants, and cozy bars, is just 4.5 kilometers away. The restaurants in the dive resorts on the west coast and the famous shore diving spots like Bari Reef are also just a few minutes away by car.
the layout of the villa
The villa is spacious and accommodates up to 6 people. There are three comfortable bedrooms with various bed sizes ranging from king to queen-size and single beds, and two modern bathrooms. The spacious open kitchen in the living room is equipped with a gas oven, gas stove, blender, kettle, filter coffee maker, toaster, hand blender, dishwasher, and refrigerator. Outside, you’ll find a garden surrounding the house, a pool deck on the first floor, and a spacious covered veranda, ideal for relaxing and enjoying the view and the cooling breeze.

Very Accommodating
We loved this house! I only wish there were a clothes dryer for convenience. The fridge needed to be bigger. We’d originally planned to be a group of 6. Thank goodness two weren’t able to come, since the fridge barely held all of the things we needed for 4! I also felt there should’ve been a microwave and clothespins for the clothesline. We bought some and left them for the next guests. Otherwise, we absolutely loved it! The house is comfortable, beautiful, and in a great spot! We’ll be back and hope to possibly stay there again! Lovely week in Casa di bon bientu
What a wonderful week we had. Beautiful island, wonderful stay. Nice big house with three bedrooms. Pool was much appreciated by the Kids (and also by us :-)). Dirty house, negligent hosts
Arrived to a very dirty pool. Argumentative "host" claimed it was clean. We can see a layer of dirt on the bottom of the pool. This was our honeymoon. We went to bed and the sheets were dirty, unwashed. Dark grey sheets were on the bed with crusty white streaks of body fluids on it. Host was unresponsive until I asked her to reimburse me for the new bedding I had to buy. Instead of having the decency to be apologetic and horrified at leaving the place used and dirty, she declined to reimburse for new bedding, and had the audacity to tell me that I should have called them instead of buying new clean sheets. Cigarette burns on the outdoor couch. All cabinets in the kitchen smell of mold. Grout in all bathrooms is stained and dirty. No cleaning supplies. No hand soap, no trash bags, no shampoo. One disposable dish rag for a 23 day stay. Master bathroom toilet leaks water on the floor when flushed, and sewer gas vents from the sink. Gas stove is unsafe, knob for oven is stripped inside. Rather than fix, they wrapped with tape. Its still stripped and is unsafe. Gas smell in the house from bad connection. This house has the potential to be great, but it is neglected, dirty, unkept and the hosts couldnt care less. They left a info check-in book on the dining table that offers to buy free alcohol for guests that leave a good review. This is why they have good reviews. They bribe for them. Affordable for the conditions
Enjoyed the birds in the day. I used the pool for exercise. The lounge chairs were comfortable. Had coffee everyday outside. Weather was great.
The house needs updated for a nice rental. The mattresses and bed sheets need updated. Had two scorpions. One in the master bedroom. There is no micro-range. The drive in and out was to far. We won’t stay that far up into the island in the future. Mosquitos absolutely were dreadful. Unable to sit outside. Even with sprays they were a nuisance. The kitchen cabinets have a odor. The location and associated views are great. Because the house is a little higher you always have a cooling breeze on the terrace. The house is very neat and completely furnished. Beautiful, complete house
What a fantastic place in lovely Bonaire. The house Casa di Bon Bientu is amazingly beautiful, high up and so it lives up to its name: always in the wind.
Beautiful, complete house. The only regret was the construction of a large new house: so noise. Fortunately not constantly.

We really liked the house managers.
The house was mostly great and we really liked the house managers we met, so I feel guilty to give a medium review, but we had to be really pushy to get help with the numerous scorpions in the master bedroom (I spoke with the pest control guy and he said it was really concerning, especially that we found one in the bedding.) The house is not set up well for a long stay - we had to buy bleach spray for the black mold because cleaning supplies were limited (we were told the mold couldn’t be fixed, but the spray worked like a dream in some areas) and a lot of items in the kitchen were broken, like the cutting boards and can opener. When we arrived I did a deep clean on the the house myself because surfaces were mostly clean, but for example the exhaust hood over the oven was clean on the outside but coated in grease and dead flies on the inside. I tried to move a table outside to clean the piles of iguana poop, and the table was so old that it just collapsed and shattered in my hands. So that was stressful, as was the constant noise from the construction nearby, but I had expressed my concerns ahead of time and asked if it would be better to move to another property and was told it would probably be almost done by the time we got there. I know things can’t be perfect but I do want to be honest in my review. The neighborhood was lovely, the loved the sunset view, and everyone we spoke with was really nice! Very nice house in a great spot
