Simple place to stay

The studio is very basic and simple. We loved how close we were to Lac Bay but since we are not windsurfers or partying people... it was a one and done. The bed only had a set of sheets on it..... no extras or a blanket and 3 pillows. The air conditioner blows directly on the bed but without the AC it's way too hot to sleep. There was a mosquito net provided but we thought it was more decor than anything, unfortunately the building has gaps and the doors have no screens so we have tons of mosquito and sand fly bites. Toilet button sticks often and is quite frustrating. The trash smell from the dumpster being in the heat seeps into the area making it impossible to enjoy the outdoor patio. There are several roaming roosters who poop everywhere and crow all hours of the night and day. The outdoor lights didn't work, nobody polices the area so when cruise ships are in town people just make themselves at home in the hammocks and at the tables. Housekeeping came unexpectedly mid week which we weren't told about. The staff next door at Sebastians play booming bass thumping music from 7am to 7pm on cruise ship days and in the studio all you hear is bass pounding. Also the noise from the Hangout Beach Bar for the surf board repairs is constant 7 days a week 12 hours a day and it's literally 50 feet from our patio.Staff said they were around but we never saw them. Overall it was an inexpensive place to stay but it wasn't worth what we sacrificed to save a buck. Read more

Perfect Surfer Beach Accomodation

We had a great time in the beach studios, we loved the people, the place and especially the walking distance to the beach (30m from the kitchen to the shore or less?) or to the lagoon (roughly a few 100m). I brought my own wing surf equipment and there was no problem for me to carry it to the lagoon every day. Also our windsurfing neighbors did this during PWA and this gear is much heavier. Hanghout beach bar is lovely, opens 9.00 am and closes depending on the daxy about 20-22.00 pm, sometimes later when they have a party. Hope others will have a good time like me there but i believe its hard to top my experiance there ;-) Hang loose :-) Read more
