Port Bonaire Reef A601 is a ground-floor apartment within the Port Bonaire resort, located in the Laguna Marina neighborhood at Kaya International 1. The apartment offers 130 m² of living space and features a covered veranda. The Van den Tweel supermarket is 2.8 kilometers away, Te Amo Beach and Donkey Beach are 270 meters away, Sebastian’s Restaurant is 2.1 kilometers away, and dive center Dive Friends Port Bonaire is just 25 meters from the front door. Layout of the apartment
The apartment has two bedrooms: bedroom 1 features a comfortable king-size bed and bedroom 2 has two single beds. There are two bathrooms. The living room flows naturally into the open kitchen, and sliding doors lead out to the covered veranda – a perfect spot to unwind after a day on the water. Just so you know
- No indoor dining table – There's no dining table inside the apartment, but the covered veranda is a wonderful spot to enjoy your meals outdoors – perfect for long, relaxed evenings under the stars.
- No dryer – There's no tumble dryer, but that's barely noticeable on Bonaire: the sun and trade winds will have your laundry dry in no time.
- No BBQ – Barbecuing is not available on-site, but there are several great outdoor grilling spots nearby on the island, such as Seru Largu or Donkey Beach.

The neighborhood
Port Bonaire Reef A601 is located in the Laguna Marina neighborhood, an artificial lagoon situated between Kralendijk and the airport, connected to the Caribbean Sea via channels. Surrounding the lagoon are villas, boutique resorts and hotels – including Ocean Breeze, Plaza Beach Resort and Water Villas Bonaire – many with private moorings. The water here is sheltered and calm, making it ideal for kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding and relaxed waterfront living, while a direct boating connection to the open sea and the dive sites along the west coast is always within reach.
Getting around
To make the most of everything Bonaire has to offer beyond the immediate surroundings of Port Bonaire Reef A601 in the Laguna Marina area, renting a car is highly recommended. With your own wheels you can explore every corner of the island at your own pace – from hidden snorkeling spots to local restaurants off the beaten path. Most roads on Bonaire are paved, but if you're planning a visit to Washington Slagbaai National Park, a pickup truck or SUV is strongly advised, as the unpaved park tracks can be rough and are not suited for a regular sedan. Keep in mind that there is no public transportation on the island and taxis can be scarce, especially on busy days when a cruise ship is in port.

Nicole and Johan were friendly, efficient and took care of problems immediately. The microwave wasn't working and a brand new one was brought in the next day. This was our 7th time we stayed at Port Bonaire. A60l does need some TLC compared to other units. Since there is no AC (unbearable in the heat) in the living/kitchen area, we were unable to keep the front door open to let more air in, because the screen door bottom sweeper was broken. Great location and gorgeous views
I will start with the positive things about this unit, if you are a diver, kite border, or just someone looking to be close to the southern dive sites, town, or groceries, this is a fabulous location! As a diver having Dive Friends onsite, could not have been more convenient. The size of the bedrooms are very adequate and the unit provides you with plenty of towels, the kitchen is really well stocked with pots, pan, dishes, etc. We were even able to host some friends for dinner one night which was really great. The negatives started by the day after we occupied the unit, a big puddle of water in front of the sink, the air conditioner in the master bedroom did not cool well at all. The ac in the second bedroom at 20 degrees Celsius was super chilly, the master at 16 degrees, was barely cool. It took a couple of days to get the plumbing in the kitchen sorted out, but it got fixed, they serviced the AC in the master but unfortunately the unit never cooled properly. There was also always a funky smell in the kitchen that we attributed to the sink having been draining water but days later when we opened the dishwasher it had several inches of water in it. We ran the washing machine and tried cleaning some dishes later but did not clean well. After the sink issue and the AC, we just decided not to contact our property manager who had just become a Dad, and concentrated on enjoying our trip and dealing with the things that were amiss. We want to come back :)
Staying on Bonaire is in itself already a luxury. However, if you also have a wonderful apartment, then your stay is enhanced. When that apartment is overlooking the sea and just a 2-minute walk from a white sand beach - then WOW! Can that get even better? Yes, when you add on the service from Sunwise. Jeroen's personal attention and availability allowed us to be totally relaxed and able to fully enjoy our holiday. We have already started saving to come back. Awesome Location – highly recommended!
We had a great vacation on Bonaire. Port Bonaire Reef 601 is a really beautiful appartement on ground floor with direct access to a large terrasse with pool. 601 is clean and well furnished. It's just one minute away from the airport, so you can arrive on foot. You can go snorkeling directly on site or cool down in the shared pool. Awesome Te Amo beach ist not more than 100m away from the appartment complex. By the way - Jeroen is a very friendly and pleasant host. :) Hope to come back in future. Winter escape
It is not first time we've visited this place. Location is on main floor, easy access to the pool and ocean. Very convenient . Kitchen is very well equipped, comfortable beds. However, since we have visited many times few things have changed now. We would have to pay extra $ for cleaning and change of sheets. So I had to ask for spare bedsheets as I washed them myself. Also not enough beach towels...had to ask for more. And lastly, since I've been changing bedsheets I did not like what I've seen under. The protectors of matrace and pillows were in a bad condition. I had to wash it as well. I really don't enjoy sleeping in someone else's sweat. Rental is pretty high price so I would expect this to be the basic service. Other then that we enjoyed our stay. The managers are terrific, friendly, efficient and timely
The managers are terrific, friendly, efficient and timely for all encounters. The unit 601A was quiet; never heard the neighbors and even though it is close to the airport there was little disturbance. Parking is right outside the unit. The view was of water. The kitchen was extremely well supplied as well as modern. Nice touches were fish/bird books, extra masks/ snorkels, coolers. The security gates were welcomed. Right next door was the great company DiveFriends. USA plugs were fine.
Only negatives: chains on lights need to be longer, the guests need to demonstrate unlocking the front door which is tricky and access to the washer needs to be uncluttered.
Would stay here again without hesitation.

You can also enjoy the shared outdoor swimming pool within the resort, and free parking is available on the premises.
