Kas Honkie Tonkie is a spacious 110 m² home located in the quiet Sur Salinja neighborhood on the first floor. Just a few minutes' drive away lies 1000 Steps, one of Bonaire's most iconic snorkeling and diving spots. Despite its name, there are about 67 steps leading down to an idyllic beach, popular among snorkelers and divers because of the beautiful coral reef. The colorful underwater world with tropical fish and healthy corals makes this an absolute must-visit. The beach itself is small but charming, perfect for a quiet moment between snorkeling sessions.

Getting around
A rental car is essential on Bonaire to explore the island beyond the immediate surroundings of Kas Honkie Tonkie in Sur Salinja. With your own car, all corners of the island are reachable at your own pace, from secluded snorkel spots to local restaurants. We recommend everyone rent a car, as you'll then be able to get everywhere. Most roads on Bonaire are paved, but for natural areas like Washington Slagbaai National Park, a pickup truck or SUV is recommended. The park roads are unpaved and sometimes rough, making a regular car unsuitable. There's no public transportation and taxi availability is limited, especially on busy days when cruise ships are docked.

Very comfortable, bright and spacious
We felt very comfortable. The house is bright and spacious. Everything was very clean. We also enjoyed the pool. It is about a 20 minute walk to Kralendijk, where it was very pleasant, especially in the evening after the cruise ships leave, many restaurants and bars.
Dinner at El Bigote is also highly recommended (only 10 minutes walk from the house).
The only thing we missed was a washing machine, but we knew that before.

Fantastic place!
We thoroughly enjoyed this lovely house. It is located in a nice quiet residential area where we quickly felt at home. Every day having breakfast outside with the birds, lizards and iguanas around us, great! Kralendijk is easily walkable which is also very nice. Furthermore, the house has everything you could possibly need. And the service provided by Cecile and Simon is absolutely top! In short, we would love to come back! 😁

Lovely and spacious house!
Lovely and spacious house! Fully equipped with all amenities. Well equipped kitchen and ample supply of towels. Both small towels and bath towels. Super convenient is the large stone sink outside with lockable drain to rinse snorkel and dive gear. A clothesline and BBQ are available in the large garden where you can easily sit or lie down in all places. We felt very much at home and had no noise or other nuisances. It is a 25 minute walk to the center of Kralendijk with stores and restaurants. We had a pickup truck from AB rentals (highly recommended!) the entire vacation that we could easily park in front of the house. Sur Salinja is centrally located and you are easily on the main road to explore the rest of the island. In short: a fantastic place for a carefree vacation. As a guest of Kas Honkie Tonkie you have access to the entire home, including both bedrooms, both bathrooms, the open kitchen, living room and all outdoor spaces like the private garden, covered veranda, terrace and pool deck. The private pool is exclusively for your use, as well as all facilities and equipment in and around the home. To warmly welcome our guests and provide explanations about the accommodation and our beautiful island, we handle all arrivals personally! The Sunwise hosts for the accommodation will coordinate with you about your arrival.

The Sunwise team goes the extra mile to make your stay at Kas Honkie Tonkie as enjoyable as possible. During your stay we are here to help with any questions. Check-in is from 3PM, check-out by 10AM. Early or late check-in or check-out may be possible upon request, depending on other guests.
