Just a short drive from Kas Honkie Tonkie you’ll find Bari Reef and Isidel Beach Park, one of the best-known spots to explore Bonaire’s underwater world. Bari Reef is famous among dive organizations for its exceptional fish diversity, with hundreds of species recorded here. From Isidel Beach Park you can easily enter the water to snorkel along the coral structures just offshore. Bring mask, snorkel and fins and plan at least a morning or afternoon here for a relaxed snorkeling adventure.

- No dryer – There is no tumble dryer, but on Bonaire your laundry usually dries very quickly in the sun and trade winds.
- Animal visits – You may occasionally see birds, lizards or other animals in the garden, which is very typical for Bonaire.
- No indoor dining table – There is no dining table inside, but the outdoor porch offers plenty of space for relaxed open-air meals.

The neighborhood
Sur Salinja is a quiet residential neighborhood just outside the center of Kralendijk. You stay in a relaxed, local area with mainly homes, while the coast, beaches and island facilities remain easy to reach by car. The neighborhood offers a pleasant balance between calm surroundings at your accommodation and the option to quickly drive to the boulevard, restaurants, and various dive and snorkel sites.
Getting around
Kas Honkie Tonkie in Sur Salinja is best enjoyed with a rental car, as Bonaire has so much more to offer than just the immediate surroundings. With your own car you can explore the island at your own pace, from remote snorkel spots and dive sites to local restaurants. We highly recommend renting a car so you can truly get everywhere. Most roads on Bonaire are paved, but for nature areas such as Washington Slagbaai National Park a pickup truck or SUV is advisable. The roads in the park are unpaved and can be rough. There is no public transport and taxis are limited, especially on busy cruise ship days.

As a guest of Kas Honkie Tonkie you have access to the entire home, including both bedrooms, the two bathrooms, the living room with open kitchen and all outdoor areas such as the private garden, terrace, covered porch and pool deck with private pool. Parking spaces on the property and on the street are also available for your use. To warmly welcome our guests and explain the accommodation and our beautiful island, we handle all arrivals in person. The Sunwise hosts of the property will arrange a meeting time with you for your arrival.
