Port Bonaire Oasis A701 is a 65 m² apartment located on the ground floor of the Port Bonaire resort, in the Laguna Marina neighborhood. The complex sits directly on the artificial lagoon that connects to the Caribbean Sea via channels – a waterfront setting with calm, sheltered water. The apartment features a terrace with sea views. Te Amo Beach and Donkey Beach are 270 meters away, supermarket Van den Tweel is 2.8 kilometers away, Sebastian’s Restaurant is 2.1 kilometers away, and dive center Dive Friends Port Bonaire is just 25 meters away. Guests have access to the resort’s shared swimming pool.

Our tip: head to the eastern side of the island for a visit to Sorobon and Lac Bay. Sorobon is a charming little fishing hamlet on the edge of the sheltered Lac Bay lagoon, which is part of an internationally protected Ramsar wetland. Lac Bay itself is world-renowned as one of the best windsurfing and kitesurfing destinations on the planet, thanks to its consistent trade winds and shallow, turquoise waters. The bay is surrounded by extensive mangrove forests that protect the coastline and serve as a nursery for young marine life. A visit to Sorobon and Lac Bay is an absolute must – especially on a breezy afternoon.
Just so you know
- No dryer – There's no clothes dryer in the apartment, but on Bonaire you'll hardly miss it: the strong sunshine and constant trade winds mean your laundry dries in no time.
- No A/C in the living area – The bedroom is equipped with air conditioning for a cool night's sleep. In the living area, a ceiling fan and portable fans, combined with the sea breeze, keep things comfortable.
- No BBQ – Barbecuing is not available at this apartment. There are several great restaurants nearby, and the public BBQ area at Seru Largu offers a fantastic alternative with sweeping views across the island.

The neighborhood
Port Bonaire Oasis A701 is located in the Laguna Marina neighborhood – an artificial lagoon situated between Kralendijk and the airport, connected to the Caribbean Sea via channels. Around the lagoon you'll find villas, boutique resorts, and hotels such as Ocean Breeze, Plaza Beach Resort, and Water Villas Bonaire, many with private moorings. The water is calm and sheltered – perfect for kayaking, paddleboarding, and relaxed waterfront living – with a direct sailing connection to the open sea and the dive sites along the west coast. The area is quiet and green, yet the vibrant center of Kralendijk is just a few minutes' drive away.
Getting around
Bonaire and especially the hotspots like Washington Slagbaai National Park, the remote pristine beaches, and the kitesurf and windsurf locations, are best enjoyed with a rental car, as our lovely Caribbean island has so much more to offer beyond the immediate surroundings of Port Bonaire Oasis A701. With your own car you can explore remote snorkel spots, dive sites and local restaurants at your own pace. We strongly recommend renting a car so you can get everywhere easily. Most roads on Bonaire are paved, but for nature areas like the park, a pickup truck or SUV is advisable. The park roads are unpaved and sometimes rough, making a regular car less suitable. There is no public transport on Bonaire and taxis are limited, especially on busy days when a cruise ship is in port.

Bonaire is a great place for coral reef diving and snorkeling (reefs starts literally from the shore). Great variety of coral forms and plenty of wildlife make every dive as an adventure. Plus, practically countless number of dive sites and Dive Friends (broad & developed system of dive centers) organize dive profiles as highly safe and extremely enjoyable activity. Consistently Exceptional—Why We Keep Coming Back to Sunwise
We’ve just returned from our 3rd stay at Port Bonaire, all booked directly through Sunwise, and it continues to be one of those rare experiences that actually lives up to (and exceeds) expectations every time. From booking to check-out, everything is easy and well organized. This year, our hosts, Nicole and Johan, were fantastic—friendly, responsive, and genuinely helpful throughout our stay. We've noticed how consistently Sunwise keeps the apartment in great shape. Little updates—like fresh linens and a new drying rack—show that they’re paying attention and investing in the guest experience. The apartment itself was spotless, comfortable, and very well equipped. The kitchen had everything we needed, there were plenty of towels, and all appliances were great. Location-wise, it’s hard to imagine anything better. Port Bonaire is close to grocery stores, great restaurants and food trucks, and all the diving you could want—most sites are less than 15 minutes away. It’s incredibly convenient, but still feels quiet and relaxed. The property is well maintained, feels very safe, and the views of the water and town are beautiful. Even with the airport nearby, noise wasn’t an issue at all. The Sunwise team is warm, reliable, and easy to work with—no stress, no complications, just a smooth and enjoyable experience from start to finish. Will stay again next time we visit the island.
We stayed at A701 Port Bonaire and will look at it again next time. Booking, check-in/out process was easy through Sunwise Bonaire. Comfortable bed (which is rare), patio, and living room furniture. The grounds and pool are well kept and enjoyable. Gated access to easy parking even with a pick-up truck. Short walk to Kite City and Stoked food trucks at Te Amo beach. Right next to Dive Friends shop which made swapping tanks and cleaning gear really easy. With no AC in the living room having the patio doors open was a must. Also left the side windows open the whole time (opening is secure) to keep it cooler. Its first floor so make sure to bring the bug spray. Plenty of mosquitoes this trip, but not a problem if using spray. The induction skillets were the expected/usual cheap and worn, so bring your own if you intend to use the range. The laundry room is vented, and worked great for storing our dive gear which was 95% dry the next morning. Loading/unloading to the truck was easy. We had a concern about airplane noise given the proximity, but it wasn’t a problem. Its only loud during a take-off which wasn’t often, lasted about 30 seconds, and early enough to not be an issue sleeping. Would recommend staying here, especially if you’re diving. A fantastic condo
This is a fantastic condo that is very well maintained, clean, comfortable, and quiet — despite being across the road from the airport, we only heard airplanes a few times when outside by the pool — with a great location next to a fantastic dive operator for all us bubble-makers. Everything the island has to offer is convenient with grocery store, restaurants, and numerous (not to be missed) food trucks within 4-5 minutes (max) drive. Donkey beach is immediately south of the property and offers sand, snorkeling, and food trucks. This is a highly recommended rental for anyone planning a visit to Bonaire. Good place to stay
The checkin/out was easy and well communicated. Located on the first floor, the unit had easy access and the pool was right outside the patio. It is an efficient one bedroom unit and the furnishings comfortable. Good place to stay for a quick week on the island at a reasonable price and a good location on the water. Absolutely perfect!
Super furnished apartment from huge refrigerator with ice machine to dozens of towels to mosquito net over the bed and washing machine. Perfect location for jumping right into the sea and swimming (house reef). Quiet, friendly residential complex with nice pool, outdoor showers, rinse tank. Direct access to Te amo beach.
