Sorobon Beach is located on the south side of the island and is home to one of the most beautiful beaches. Instead of coral or pebbles, you’ll find pristine white powdery sand here. The beach boasts clear azure blue water, which is wonderfully shallow, at around 1 meter deep. You can walk for about 20 minutes towards the reef and the open ocean, which can be seen further out. You can reach the reef without having to swim. However, please be cautious as there is a lot of surfing activity. If you’re interested in taking windsurfing lessons, this is the ideal place!

Sorobon offers more than just sun and beach enjoyment. Every morning, a small fishing boat departs for the open ocean. The fishermen use traditional methods to catch interesting sea creatures. They literally fish using the old-fashioned way. The catch is then cleaned directly on the pier to be sold to the locals or one of the restaurants as the “Catch of the day.”

“Bon dia tur hende i bon bini na dushi Boneiru!
My name is Casper Douma and I am a photographer. Since 2014 I’ve been living on this beautiful island, surrounded by a fringing reef. At first glance, you may see mostly cacti and drought, but Bonaire is a little gem if you get to know it better. I would like to take you on one of my photography tours to show you all the special places of Bonaire. In small groups of maximum 4 people I give you a unique look at the beauty of Bonaire. Became curious? Take a look at my website! I wish you a lot of fun on beautiful Bonaire.”
