Rain showers bring refreshment to Bonaire and change the dry climate. Ephemeral rain supports flora and fauna, transforms the landscape into greenery, enriches freshwater resources and promotes biodiversity and beauty.

A rain shower regularly passes over Bonaire.

On Bonaire, rain showers and localized downpours bring welcome refreshment and change to the predominantly dry, sun-drenched climate. The rain shower, though often brief, plays a crucial role in sustaining the island’s unique flora and fauna. When rain clouds gather over the landscape, the rain transforms the arid environment into a vibrant green environment, which is especially evident in the lush vegetation and blooms of cacti and other plants. Rain in general on Bonaire is not only essential to the natural ecosystem, but also enriches freshwater resources and adds to the beauty and biodiversity of the island.
