Goto Lake Bonaire

Flamingo hangout

The Goto Lake – Gotomeer in Dutch – is a saltwater lagoon in the north of the island and is known as a flamingo meeting place. Bonaire is one of the few places in the world where pink flamingos nest and these beautiful birds are excellent to observe from the road that passes high above the lake. The best time to watch them is from January to June, because they often take care of their then still gray chicks. On the road from Karpata to the Goto Lake, you will come across a large car park halfway, from where you have great views towards the Brandaris and the Washington Slagbaai National Park.
