As of February, vaccinations against COVID-19

The Public Entity of Bonaire (OLB) expects to start the vaccination program to combat the SARS-CoV-2 virus in February 2021. Soon the inhabitants will be informed about when exactly the program will start, at which locations vaccination will be started and who will be the first ones to be eligible for the coronapric. Eventually every adult on Bonaire will be able to get vaccinated (voluntarily!). The implementation of the vaccination program will be done in cooperation with the general practitioners and the hospital on Bonaire, Fundashon Mariadal.

Vaccines extensively tested

If people get vaccinated, the likelihood of an outbreak of the virus that causes COVID-19 becomes less and less. The OLB emphasizes once again that the various vaccines that become available have been extensively tested and found to be safe. In many countries in the world, people have already voluntarily allowed themselves to be vaccinated.

Equipment and support team to Bonaire!

Transporting and storing the vaccines must be done carefully. The equipment for this will arrive on Bonaire in the course of January. At the end of January a team of experts from the RIVM will come to the island to supervise and monitor everything. The Communication and Protocol Department is also preparing an information campaign, so that everyone is well informed about everything surrounding the vaccination program.
