Sorobon: the pearl of Bonaire’s east coast.

Sorobon, located on the east side of Bonaire in idyllic Lac Bay, is a true oasis for nature lovers, windsurfers, and anyone seeking peace and relaxation. The shallow waters of Lac Bay are sheltered by a vast mangrove forest. The mangrove forest is not only a crucial breeding ground for fish and birds, it’s also a natural barrier that protects the calm waters of the bay from the rougher open sea. Lac Bay and its natural environment make Sorobon a paradise for windsurfers. Beginners and intermediate surfers can have a great time here thanks to the constant but manageable winds and shallow waters. The clear waters also invite snorkeling, where visitors can look at the rich underwater world of the coral reef surrounding the bay. If you’re looking to stay near Lac Bay, Sunwise Bonaire has various rental houses and beach studios near Lac Bay.

My name is Casper Douma and I am a photographer. Since 2014 I’ve been living on this beautiful island, surrounded by a fringing reef. At first glance, you may see mostly cacti and drought, but Bonaire is a little gem if you get to know it better. I would like to take you on one of my photography tours to show you all the special places of Bonaire. In small groups of maximum 4 people I give you a unique look at the beauty of Bonaire. Became curious? Take a look at my website! I wish you a lot of fun on beautiful Bonaire.
