Bon Bida Buriku is a ground-floor apartment in the Bon Bida Apartments complex on Kaya Breda in the Hato neighborhood, just north of Kralendijk. The apartment covers 140 m² and features a covered veranda, access to a shared garden, and use of the communal pool. Zhung Kong supermarket is 850 meters away, restaurant Rum Runners is 600 meters away, and dive center Dive Friends Den Laman / Sand Dollar is 450 meters away. Isidel Beach Park, home to the renowned Bari Reef snorkeling and dive site, is just 350 meters from the front door.

Layout of the apartment

The apartment has two bedrooms, each fitted with a comfortable king-size bed, and two full bathrooms. The bright living area flows into the fully equipped open kitchen, which includes a stovetop, oven, refrigerator, freezer, microwave, dishwasher, toaster, coffee maker, and ice maker. Outside, a covered veranda with outdoor furniture invites you to enjoy a relaxed breakfast or a cool evening. Guests also have access to the shared garden.

Just a short drive from Bon Bida Buriku lies one of the island's most beloved snorkel and dive sites: 1000 Steps. The name sounds daunting, but in reality there are only about 67 steps leading down to the water – and you'll forget all about them the moment you slip beneath the surface. The reef here is spectacular: a healthy coral wall teeming with diverse reef fish, sea turtles, and other marine life. Both snorkelers and divers are equally rewarded. The best time to visit is early in the morning, when the water is calm and the roadside parking hasn't yet filled up.

Just so you know

• No BBQ – Due to the apartment complex setting, there is no barbecue on site. Bonaire does have some great spots for outdoor grilling, such as the Seru Largu viewpoint, and there are plenty of local restaurants within a short drive.
• No dryer – There is no tumble dryer, but you'll barely notice: thanks to Bonaire's sunshine and steady trade winds, laundry dries completely within a few hours.
• Unpaved access road – The road leading to the complex is unpaved and can feel a little bumpy – locals affectionately call it the "Bonaire massage." A regular rental car is perfectly fine; a 4×4 is not required.

The neighborhood

Bon Bida Buriku is situated in Hato, the residential strip stretching north of Kralendijk from Harbour Village toward Sabadeco. The neighborhood strikes a great balance between Caribbean tranquility and easy access: beach clubs, dive resorts, and the northern shore dive sites are all close by, with restaurants and shops just a short drive away. Evenings in Hato are wonderfully quiet, while daytime has everything within quick reach. A great fit for families and water sports enthusiasts who want to move fast during the day and wind down in peace at night.

Getting around

To make the most of what Bonaire has to offer beyond the immediate surroundings of Bon Bida Buriku in Hato, renting a car is strongly recommended. With your own wheels you can explore every corner of the island at your own pace – from secluded snorkel spots to local restaurants along the coast. Most roads on Bonaire are paved and easy to navigate, but if you plan to visit Washington Slagbaai National Park, a pickup truck or SUV is highly advised: the park roads are unpaved and can be quite rugged, making a standard passenger car a poor fit. Bonaire has no public transportation and taxis are limited, especially on busy days when a cruise ship is in port.

As a guest of Bon Bida Buriku, you have exclusive access to the entire apartment: both bedrooms, the two bathrooms, the living room, the fully equipped open kitchen, and the covered veranda. You can also enjoy the shared garden and the communal pool. Free street parking is available directly in front of the apartment. Check-in is available from 3:00 PM and check-out is by 10:00 AM. Early check-in or late check-out can be arranged on request, depending on availability. Smoking is not permitted anywhere on the property, and unfortunately pets are not allowed. We kindly ask that you keep noise to a minimum in the evenings out of consideration for the neighborhood.
