Beach, fishermen and picnics

Located on the east side of Lac Bay, the Sorobon area is one of Bonaire’s brilliant natural treasures. Many local fishing boats can be found at the head of the peninsula at Fishermen’s Pier, and the waterfront offers several stretches of beach for picnics. There are also several shelters for the much needed shade. Perfect conditions for wind surfers!

The easy access to the sea, with a lot of sand for Bonairean standards, the warm, shallow water, the constant trade wind and the many hours of daily sunshine on Bonaire, are a great combination for some of the best freestyle wind surfers in the world. The perfect conditions provide the opportunity to host both local and international competitions throughout the year.

“Bon dia tur hende I bon bini na dushi Boneiru!
My name is Casper Douma and I am a photographer. Since 2014 I’ve been living on this beautiful island, surrounded by a fringing reef. At first glance, you may see mostly cacti and drought, but Bonaire is a little gem if you get to know it better. I would like to take you on one of my photography tours to show you all the special places of Bonaire. In small groups of maximum 4 people I give you a unique look at the beauty of Bonaire. Became curious? Take a look at my website! I wish you a lot of fun on beautiful Bonaire. “
