Kas Air with cooling pool and covered porch

Kas Air is exactly what the name suggests. This recently built villa is perfectly positioned to catch the breeze, offering cooling spots everywhere: in the lounge area on the porch that can be closed with shutters during strong winds, on the lounge sofa in the living room, in one of the delightful rocking chairs on the front terrace, on one of the sunbeds by the pool, or in a hammock in the palapa. For months with less wind, fans are placed both inside and outside at various spots. The villa is located in the beautiful and well-situated neighborhood of Sabalpalm Villas, south of the airport.

Enjoy 15% last minute discount and no service charge

The first 21 days after the booking date, are under a last minute arrangement with 15% discount on the rental price. In addition, we do not charge a service fee!

At Sunwise Bonaire we love transparency. The price you see, therefore is the total price, including all discounts and costs.

Kas Air is the epitome of outdoor living

Even inside feels like outside, as the glass rear facade spanning the full width of 6 meters can be completely slid open, and the front facade can also be opened almost entirely at your discretion. The beautiful wooden decking around the pool runs all the way inside, blurring the lines between indoors and outdoors and ensuring no slips after a swim. The spacious living room, with a lounge sofa, desk, and TV area with comfortable Fatboys, feels like the outdoors but can be easily enclosed.

Terraces, pool, and outdoor kitchen

Outdoor living in Kas Air revolves around the large pool of 8.00 x 4.00 meters and 1.60 meters deep, featuring a ‘lazy stair’ for seating. It’s an infinity pool and a feast for the eyes. The decking around the pool is spacious, and tropical palms around it provide privacy while guests lounge on the sunbeds or the floating Fatboy in the pool. The outdoor bar with bar stools next to the outdoor kitchen with a built-in Green Egg is a real treat. Guests can be served at the bar from the kitchen, with a view of the beautifully landscaped garden full of palms and sightlines to flowers, parrots, and hummingbirds.

Bonairean architecture combined with Dutch Design

Kas Air is owned by a Dutch designer who has been intensely involved in the design of the house, and it shows. Attention to detail is evident everywhere, with many natural materials used and the traditional cap construction. The same type of hardwood is used throughout, and stones gained from excavating the pool are found in the outer wall and the base of the house. Also, notice the detailing in the woodwork and painting. The shutters around are beautiful, and showering outside with a view of coral and palm trees is delightful. Even the trash bin is beautifully concealed, and the furniture is carefully selected.

Comfortable and very user-friendly

The owners have used their experiences renting homes worldwide to build a home as comfortable and user-friendly as possible. That means wooden walkways are laid out so you don’t always have to walk through the gravel barefoot, a very well-equipped kitchen with abundant dishes and kitchenware, oven, ceramic hob, microwave, luxury Nespresso with milk frother, dishwasher, large American fridge with ice cubes and cold water function, Quooker, sandwich toaster, blender, and stick blender. In a spacious storage room, there’s a washing machine and plenty of space for groceries and empty suitcases. A Bose box can be controlled by Bluetooth, and on the large TV in the living room, guests can use their own Netflix account.

Comfort starts immediately upon entering through the electrically operated gate. After parking on the property, guests can clean and store kite, windsurf, and dive gear and, after using the outdoor shower to remove sand, dive straight into the pool.

Naturally, there’s good WiFi everywhere, so also in the palapa, and in many places like the bedrooms, there’s also internet via fiber optic available via data points.

In the wind and sun, there’s also a beautiful clothesline to hang beach towels.

Lighting has also been thoughtfully considered. It’s very intuitively operated, and the outdoor lighting turns on automatically when dusk falls. Coming home in the dark and searching for a light switch is not an issue.

The bedrooms and the bathrooms

The four bedrooms, all painted in a Caribbean color, are equipped with all conveniences such as air conditioning, fan, and a spacious wardrobe and desk. Two bedrooms have an en-suite bathroom, and 2 bedrooms share one. All bathrooms have both a regular shower and a rain shower, sink with ample storage possibilities, a toilet, and a large mirror with light and heating. Additionally, there’s an extra toilet for guests.

Child-friendly and wheelchair accessible

Kas Air is equipped with a Stokke high chair, a BabyBjörn bouncer, and of course, a crib. Guests using a wheelchair have also been considered. The car can be parked on the property next to the wooden walkway that leads to a ramp, after which one enters the completely threshold-free villa.

Perfectly located for kiting, surfing, and diving

Kas Air is perfectly located within walking distance from Bachelors Beach and within a 10-minute drive from Lac Bay with Jibe City, The Hang Out Beachbar, Sebastian’s Beach, and Sorobon Beach Resort. Punt Vierkant with Delfins and the three fine restaurants of Jonnie and Thérèse Boer, BrassBoer, Club Tropicana, and Senang, is just a kilometer away. Ocean Oasis is right next door. Also, Atlantis Beach, one of the best places in the world for kitesurfing, is not far away, and of course, Kralendijk with its many restaurants is just a few minutes away. Divers can also walk into the water at various spots near Kas Air.

Fantastic modern villa

I have rented many homes on the island, mostly in the northern Crown and Terrace communities. This year decided to be closer to Lac Bay. This home met all my demanding requirements in a rental villa. It was clean, airy, uncluttered and well equipped. Would rent it again but sadly it is not available. I have rented one around the corner for 3 weeks in February with Sunwise as they were great property managers. Read more
